Water is fishes' environment - they live and breathe in it, so clean, oxygenated water is the most important aspect of fish-keeping.
A few simple steps will ensure that you always have good water quality and healthy fish.
-Change 10 - 15% of the aquarium water each week
-Clean or change the filter media each month
-Neutralise chlorine and other tap water chemicals with Water ager
-Water pH levels can differ around the country and fish are very sensitive to pH levels. A pH test kit will quickly and easily balance the tank to the correct levels. Check pH levels regularly.
Instructions:
-Rinse the new filter in clean fresh water before use
-Attach to the inside of the tank with the suction cups. This is a submersible filter so ensure that the pump is below the water level
-Connect power supply
Cleaning:
-Turn off power and remove the filter from the tank
-The filter pulls apart to allow access to the Bio sponges and carbon
-The Bio sponges should be rinsed or replace monthly
-Rinse the new carbon, in its bag, with aquarium water. Do not rinse under the tap
-For best results, sponge and carbon should be replaced monthly
-Re-assemble, return to the tank and restore power
